For those that need to fill in an ESA 50 there is a website that has an example on it .It is published on the National association of welfare rights advisers site and

this guidance is actually used by CAB for advisers as an example of how to fill in a form and matches the questions on the form to the descriptors the DWP are looking at. and is here

This really needs to be read with the list of descriptors to hand ... these are available here

Recommend you download and keep them :)

Thanks Rich, have just had a look at this. I have to fill in another work capability form. I was only awarded ESA in the support group category in August last year. I have tried to defer this with the benefit office but have got nowhere! I am now waiting for an appointment with welfare rights after a referral from my mp's office. I have also written to Ian Duncan Smith and got a standard letter back about costs to the tax payer etc!

Hope you are keeping well.

Dear Rich,

Thank you for posting the very useful links above.

Yesterday I received a letter telling me that my D.L.A and Benefits are going to be reviewed.

How I had to fight to get D.L.A a few years ago.

It took two attempts with years in between because I felt so beaten down by the first assessor,

that all my confidence in myself went and I am a Graduate!

I loath and detest this Government and the stupidity of the Public who detest sickness benefit claimants because they believe Government spin about us

all being on the fiddle! In reality the % of slackers is miniscule in studies that have been done.

Good luck to all of us from here on in.

We live with this horrible R.A and all that it entails.

I have nothing but good will towards all who wish to receive help to get back into work, but frankly don't believe that all of us could do so or

would wish to do so, as we respect and understand the precarious nature of maintaining our health with R.A.

I almost imagine R.A as the great trickster - one day your fairly O.K, maybe even for a couple of months, then everything hurts like hell and

everyday tasks just to take care of yourself become a full time job!

This is what people do not understand or want to know about.

The reason for this is that it scares them to death to think that this disease can strike anyone!

Best wishes,

FionaRollEyes
